SHARM Tutorial: Real-Time Recording
Important note
During a live session (real-time recording), both the therapist and the client can listen to the session with headphones.
Please read the article:
Please wait a few seconds for the video to start displaying This SHARM tutorial explains how to use the SHARM PRO Script Recorder to record your session with your client in your clinic. Before watching this tutorial, please watch the tutorials on the Sound Recorder and the Script Recorder. During the real-time recording with your client, SHARM simultaneously plays the background session, with its music and other sounds, and records your voice. At the same time, the mixed audio is saved to the selected sound file.
Room arrangement
Your client can listen to the session with stereo headphones or loudspeakers.
The stereo headphones or loudspeakers should be high quality, and the headphones should be comfortable to wear.
Preparing the session
Open a background session for your real-time recording. You can prepare different background sessions according to your needs.
Real-time recordings do not require External segments. Set the length of the session. Before you start recording, select the format of the recorded sound file from the Sound Properties window. Press the “Sound Recorder” button on the top toolbar to open the Script Recorder. Set the recording level. If you have a prepared script text, then you can paste it into the script window. Select a name for the final recorded sound file.
Voice playback
Turn the “Voice Playback” option on and listen to your voice to find the optimal recording level.
If your client is listening with stereo headphones, he or she might not hear your voice as well. In this case, keep the “Voice Playback” option on during recording. Your voice will be mixed with the background session and be played through the client’s headphones. If your client is listening with stereo loudspeakers, he or she will hear your voice directly. In this case, turn the "Voice Playback" option off during recording.
Session playback
Press the “Session Playback” check box to enable real-time recording.
Real-time recording
Press the “Record” button to start the real-time recording.
SHARM plays the background session while recording your voice. SHARM automatically stops recording when the session playback reaches the end. You can give your client the recorded sound file at the end of the session to practice at home.
