This SHARM tutorial explains how to use the Script Recorder, in SHARM PRO Edition, to record scripts in your sessions.

Before watching this tutorial, please watch the Sound Recorder tutorial.

Draw an External segment.

Press the “Record” button in the External segment properties.

Select a name for the recorded sound file.

Click the “Open Script” button to open the script window.

Preparing the script
You can type your script text directly into the script window.

Or you can copy script texts from your own script library, from the Internet or from other sources, and paste into the script window.

Open your script text using your Word Processor, Web Browser, or another program.

Highlight the script text.

Use the “Copy” command in your program. In most programs, you can press the Control and “C” keys on your keyboard to copy the text.

Switch back to SHARM.

Press the “Paste” button to paste the script text into the script window.

Auto-Scrolling
You can use the script text as a reference during recording.

To make the recording process easier, SHARM can automatically scroll the text for you.

Press the “Auto Scroll” check box to enable Auto-Scrolling.

Set the Speed slider to a comfortable reading speed.

The reading speed is measured by CPS, or “characters per second”.

The Progress window displays the estimated recording time. The slower the reading speed, the longer the recording time.

Recording
Press the "Record" button to start recording the script.

SHARM scrolls the script text through the top scrolling frame.

SHARM highlights the scrolling text in the script window.

The text in the script window scrolls down automatically during recording.

The Progress frame estimates the remaining time for the recording.

When the scrolling text reaches the end, SHARM automatically ends the recording. If you don’t use the Auto-Scrolling option, press the “Stop” button to finish the recording.

Font
You can set the font size for both the top scrolling frame and the script window.

Press the “Font” button.

Select the font name and size.

Close the Font window.

SHARM uses the new font properties when Auto-Scrolling the text.

Close the Script Recorder window.

Managing script texts and sound files
The script text is now embedded in the External segment.

This makes it easier to re-record your script, if needed.

Press the “Record” button again.

The Script Recorder remembers both the script text and the name of the recorded sound file.
